Plan International is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Community Volunteers.

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.


  • Carry out community engagement activities
  • Sensitise the communities to gender-based violence (GBV) and sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR)
  • Organise and facilitate community outreach sessions
  • Carry out active GBV case identification
  • Refer survivors for medical and psychological support to partner health facilities and for other needed services and communicate challenges in case management
  • Liaise between medical facilities and Plan International
  • Provide psychosocial first aid to survivors
  • Facilitate the targeting, management and distribution of dignity kits
  • Manage community-based feedback and complain mechanisms
  • Refer survivors to project assistant for remote support
  • Ensure stock management, packaging and distribution of dignity kits
  • Ensure timely submission of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to the MER officer
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor


  • GCE ordinary level or equivalent
  • Be between 18 and 35 years of age
  • Good knowledge of community engagement
  • Six months, minimum, of work experience as a community worker
  • Ability to carry out community sensitisation and outreach activities
  • Mastery of the North West/South West context
  • Mastery of report-writing
  • Vast field work experience
  • Be resident in Benakuma, Befang or Bui areas of the North West region
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to speak, read and write English as well as pidgin English
  • Good community communication skills
