Yiaga Africa is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of HR and Administration Officer.

Yiaga Africa is a nonprofit, civic hub of changemakers committed to the promotion of democratic governance, human rights and civic engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain physical and digital personnel records like employment contracts and PTO requests
  • Update internal databases with new hire information
  • Create and distribute guidelines and FAQ documents about company policies
  • Gather payroll data like bank accounts and working days
  • Publish and remove job ads
  • Schedule job interviews and contact candidates, as needed
  • Prepare reports and presentations on HR-related metrics like the total number of hires by department
  • Develop training and onboarding material
  • Respond to employees’ questions about benefits (for example, the number of vacation days they are eligible for)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or Business Management
  • Three years, minimum, of work experience as an HR administrative or a similar role
  • Membership of CIPM is an added advantage
  • Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Proficiency in payroll administration
  • Knowledge of labour legislation (e.g., organisational health and safety, employee benefits, etc.)
