The British Council is seeking to fill the role of Project Coordinator.

The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities.

It builds connections, understanding and trust among people in the UK and other countries through arts and culture, education and the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a range of administration within agreed corporate procedures, to maximise quality, continuity, and efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records supporting delivery of resource centres and the online knowledge resource platform
  • Maintain accurate records supporting delivery of grants awarded to civil society organisations
  • Perform straightforward analysis, manipulation and interpretation of data, tasks, or information, presenting findings/results accurately and appropriately, to support effective maintenance of management information systems
  • Provide logistical support to the organisation and delivery of internal and external activities/events, to ensure they run smoothly and efficiently
  • Proactively communicate and liaise with others to ensure effective coordination and delivery of events, services and activities
  • Manage the contractual relationship between the British Council and the operators of the resource centres and the online knowledge resource platform and ensure appropriate support
  • Provide representation for the programme and British Council including with decentralised stakeholders and other programmes
  • Plan and prioritise own work activities, responding to changing requirements
  • Task and coordinate others to complete time-limited, straightforward activities, within established procedures, in order to ensure efficient delivery of services
  • Monitor task completion to agreed quality and time standards
  • Ensure that financial systems and processes effectively aid operational programme delivery and are compliant with the EU-PACA requirements and British Council standards
  • Monitor and take responsibility for small-scale resources, following established procedures and ensure that equipment and materials are available and ready to use when needed
  • Ensure good financial results against plans and forecasts

Requirements

  • University/college degree in or social sciences or equivalent study
  • One year work experience in project or event management or equivalent
  • High level of proficiency in English and Arabic languages
  • Relevant work experience in event or project management
  • Relevant work experience in the field of coordination
  • Experience working in client-funded projects (EU, FCDO, or other development agencies)
