What: Africa Resilience Forum, ‘Covid-19 and Beyond: Working Together for a Resilient Continent’

The Covid-19 pandemic continues to test the resilience of communities and institutions across Africa.
This situation calls for a stronger collaboration among development partners and innovative responses for building long-term resilience.
Organised by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the fourth Africa Resilience Forum aims to strengthen partnerships and explore policy ideas for sustainable development, especially in the context of the pandemic.
It also aims to provide a platform for sharing experiences, lessons learnt, and co-create innovative solutions based on global and regional trends to address fragility and build lasting resilience.
Speakers will include Director General, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Patricia Danzi; Administrator, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Achim Steiner; Executive Director UNAIDS, Winnie Byanyima; and President, Association for Indigenous Women and Peoples of Chad (AFPAT), Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim.
Confirmed as participants are President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo of Congo; Chairperson, African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat; Chief Executive Officer, Agence Française de Développement, Rémy Rioux; Director General, World Trade Organisation, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; Director General, World Health Organisation, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus; and AfDB President, Dr Akinwumi Adesina.
