Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Livelihoods Team Leader.

DRC provides direct assistance to conflict-affected populations – refugees, and internally displaced people (IDPs).

Responsibilities

  • Uphold the professional standards related to livelihoods programming in humanitarian assistance
  • Develop a strong understanding of DRC’s livelihood programming procedures and standards
  • Plan and implement livelihood activities with the guidance of the livelihoods manager, including, but not limited to, technical and vocational training, business management training, design of business plans and provision of grants for small businesses
  • Serve as liasion with the protection programme by routinely screening household level interviews in DRC areas of operation
  • Support the livelihoods manager to manage the financial aspects of the project (forecast and spending tracking)
  • Coordinate the launch of assessments, key informant interviews, and focus group discussions on livelihoods activities
  • Supervise data collection for cash and livelihoods projects as required
  • Coordinate and supervise CfW (Cash for Work) projects within scope of livelihoods programming
  • Facilitate communications with relevant partners/service providers for training throughout the project cycle
  • Supervise and coordinate team of livelihoods officers and assistants in their tasks and duties
  • Participate as part of the DRC selection committee during the review process of business plans, and selection of business grant recipients
  • Uphold the highest standard of confidentiality when managing records to ensure beneficiary dignity and privacy

Requirements

  • Experience in cash and livelihoods/employment/ cash for work programmes
  • Four years of experience in carrying out social work, humanitarian intervention, community development
  • Experience in working with civil society organisations (CSOs), INGOs, UN agencies and local communities (desirable)
  • High-level of computer literacy
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good communication channels with relevant stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
