The New Badagry Forum (NBF) has launched a digital training initiative for 60 youths in Badagry, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.
Chairman of the non-governmental organisation (NGO), Prince Olu Kosoko, at the launch of the registration portal in Badagry, said that youths in the area needed a digital environment to compete with their equivalents in other areas.
‘The two weeks intensive training programme will equip the beneficiaries with high-end digital and programming skills for developing creative animations, games and solutions in a stimulating and exciting environment’, he said.
‘This is to create a future for our youths. We need to change the fundamental understanding of every Badagry youth’.
Kosoko said that the initiative will encourage unity among the youths towards contributing to the development of the ancient town.
‘The purpose of the forum is to have a new Badagry with a paradigm shift from the conventional approach to issues, tapping into both local and international opportunities, to build human capital and promote the image of Badagry through appropriate branding’, he said.
Project Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of Dooke Innovation Centre and Equip Africa, Opeyemi Oke, while giving his remark, confirmed that the forum has paid all expenses for the training.
He also said that the participants would be taught digital product design, programming, website development, and digital marketing.
