The Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) have opened applications for the eighth Major Research Grants (MRGs) programme.

The Private Enterprise Development in Low-Income Countries (PEDL) programme pursues a research agenda that aims to better understand what determines the strength of market forces driving efficiency in low-income countries (LICs).

The objective of PEDL is to fund cutting-edge, policy-oriented research that could be published in leading academic journals and be relevant to the policy dialogue in LICs.

Benefit

  • Each successful researcher will receive at least £100,000 to conduct a study

Eligibility

  • The programme is open to mixed/multi-disciplinary approaches
  • Open to applicants from countries that are listed in the most recent version of the World Bank’s country classification
