    Enter: Tanzania Public Diplomacy Competition

    The US Embassy in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, announces an open competition for initiatives that promote educational and cultural engagement and foster mutual understanding between the USA and Tanzania. The Embassy seeks projects designed to further the development of Tanzania’s future leaders, build the capacity of Tanzanian institutions, and promote awareness and understanding of shared American and Tanzanian values.

    The US Embassy Dar es Salaam strives to ensure that its efforts reflect the diversity of USA society and societies abroad. The Embassy seeks and encourages the involvement of people from traditionally underrepresented audiences in all its grants, programmes and other activities and in its workforce and workplaces. Opportunities are open to people regardless of their race, colour, national origin, sex, age, religion, geographic location, socioeconomic status, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity. The Embassy is committed to fairness, equity, and inclusion.

    Possible topics include, but are not limited to, promoting democratic governance, promoting broad-based economic growth, improving health and education especially among women and youth, and advancing regional and domestic security.

    Benefits

    • Expected size of individual awards: Between $2,000 to $25,000
    • Estimated total funding: $50,000

    Eligibility

    • Applicants may be individuals or representatives of civil society and non-governmental organisations, cultural organisations, or research and academic institutions
    • All project activities must take place outside the United States of America and its territories
