Uganda: MEMPROW Names Mukasa Executive Director

Ms. Immaculate Nakasi Mukasa has become the Executive Director of Mentoring and Empowerment Programme for Young Women (MEMPROW Uganda). The Board of Directors of the organisation recently announced the appointment.

Mukasa began her career with MEMPROW Uganda as a Senior Programmes Manager. She was later promoted to the position of Programmes Director, where she played an instrumental role in streamlining MEMPROW Uganda’s grant management and monitoring and evaluation systems.

The board of the organisation seized the occasion of announcing Mukasa’s appointment to also express their gratitude to the outgoing Executive Director, Dr. Hilda M. Tadria, who is also the founder of the organisation. A statement by the board read, in part, ‘We would also like to express our utmost gratitude to our outgoing and founder [Executive Director], Dr. Hilda. M Tadria.  Her vision of nurturing young feminist leadership formed the foundation that shapes MEMPROW’s mission and values. Under her dedicated leadership, MEMPROW has transformed into the vibrant feminist organisation it is today, with sound and robust organisational management practices, a large number of engaged supporters and a diversified funding stream’.
