    Ghana: CCF Donates to Inmates

The Crime Check Foundation (CCF), a non-governmental organisation, has donated boxes of carbolic soap, hand sanitisers and Veronica buckets worth GH₵9,000 to the Ghana Prisons Service to support the fight against Covid-19.

The Executive Director of the foundation, Mr. Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, said that the items will ensure the safety of personnel and those of inmates. He noted that the personnel of the prisons service as well as inmates are at risk of contracting the deadly virus if safety and precautionary measures are not adhered to. He also used the occasion to urge all Ghanaians to observe personal hygiene.

The Deputy Director of Prisons, in charge of finance and administration, Mrs. J. Fredua-Agyemang, received the donation and thanked the organisation for their kind gesture. She stated that the donation came in at the right time given that the service was not adequately resourced. She appealed to Ghanaians and other organisations to support the service, stating that the service especially needs handgun thermometers for taking temperatures.
