    Apply: MEST Africa Challenge for Start-Ups

    The MEST Africa Challenge is the pitch competition for technology start-ups based in Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania.

    Winners of each country’s contest, the semifinals, will compete in the finals at the MEST Africa Summit 2020, a global stage in front of entrepreneurs, investors, corporate partners and ecosystem players.

    Eligibility

    • Start-ups should be in the pre-seed or seed stage (have raised $100,000 in total or less cumulatively since inception)
    • Start-ups should be currently generating revenue
    • Start-ups should be able to demonstrate traction in one or more of the nine markets (Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania)
    • Start-ups should have been in operations for two years or less
    • Start-ups should be software companies
    • Start-ups should be industry agnostic (any business model: B2B, B2C, B2B2C, B2G etc.)
    • Francophone applicants will pitch in English
