    Midwife Position in Sudan

    Position: Midwife

    Location: Sudan (Al Geneina)

    Closing date: 07 March

    Duration: 6 months min

    Working language: English essential, Arabic if possible

    Experience: Representation and Team Management

    General description of the post:

    • Participates to the implementation to the programme to support and to supervise midwives and TBAs in the community
    • Increases the effectiveness and the uptake of antenatal and delivery services;
    • Participates in Gender Based Violence protection and family protection programs and assist the doctor during the consultations about sexual violence against womenMidwifery
    • Implements the project plan in Reproductive Health with the medical co-ordinator; and the national midwife
    • Supervises and trains the midwifes in the villages and Traditional Birth Attendants (TBA) in collaboration with the Ministry Of Health, and CAM staff
    • Participates in the collection and analysis of data from Reproductive health activity
    • Writes, in collaboration with the entire team in the field, weekly reports and monthly sitreps to the head of mission, and donor reports
    • Participates in the writing of project proposals

    Required Competencies

    • Excellent written and spoken English (essential), Arabic is a plus
    • At least one year’s post-registration midwifery experience for the midwife
    • Ability to live and work in an isolated area and in conditions of limited comfort
    • Ability to accept the possibility of insecurity in the project area and to accept the security rules
    • Previous overseas experience in humanitarian assistance programmes and basic computer skills (Word, Excel) are desirable
